Mukhtasar al-Quduri (Arabic: Al-Mukhtasar al-quduri) is the name of a book written by the Imām Abu Hanifah with the purpose of explaining the Mantaqibat al-Quduriyyah.5From it one can learn a lot about the technicalities of Quduriyyah.

He teaches us the rules of Quduriyyah in a very simple manner. It consists of ten rules that are briefly explained in nine sections.

Among the signs of the holy month of Ramadhaan are the fasts of al-Quds and al-A`rifah. The first of these fasts occurs at the time of Laylat al-Qadr, when all those of the believers who have the means are ordered to fast for a whole day.

The narrations narrating the importance of the seven days of Ramadhaan are also explained, showing the reason behind their importance. It also explains that the days of Dhu al-Hijjah are those in which the fasts are least and the days of Rajab are those in which the fasts are the most.

The Imām continues by explaining some rules of this month such as the prohibition of charging interest, the payment of zakāht and the distribution of charity.

The Imām then goes on to explain the importance of al-Quds and al-A`rifah, which do not change from night to night, and their importance during the night of Laylat al-Qadr, when the resurrection of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to be mentioned. He also explains the concept of al-Walaa¹’ wal Baraa¹’.

The Imām then points out some of the signs that occur during the Ramadhaan, such as the breaking of the fasts of al-Layl and al-Qurbaan at the time of Tahajjud prayer, and the breaking of the fasts of al
